The original terminology used by the old school, for conveying the idea that some topic should be examined from a more strategic than tactical point of view (POV) or vantage.

Currently surplanted by the increasingly popular 30,000-foot view, and even more strategic outer space view.

Mr. Johnson: Let's all hold off for a minute and step back, and take a birds eye view of the situation. We'll get our bearings and figure out where to go from here.

A tactical thinker's way of explaining an attempt at a strategic thought.

As in...
So on a very high level, we are attempting to leverage existing learnings in order to speak to our target audience on a personal level. It's really a no-brainer.
