Spray and pray

Taught by TA Jason | Edit Tagged as hope and pray, marketing strategy, spray and pray, | 1 Comments »

To throw everything out and see what sticks

As in...
We're buying 475 trillion worth of advertising for this campaign. We're renting out people's foreheads, we're projecting an image on the moon, and we'll be branding babies in the womb in the 3rd quarter. We truly believe this is an "everyman" product so we're going with the spray and pray approach.

A potential customer that is literally crying out for you to market your product to them

As in...
Our marketing strategy needs to turn the handraiser into an advocate. In order to do that, we're going to need to produce the tools that enable the advocates to advocate. Let's get our tech team on the phone and start brainstorming.

An attempt to describe that your marketing strategies are centered around the underlying interest of driving incremental revenue (achieved by focusing on the value of a conversion) for the company or business unit responsible for the marketing budget; return on investment

As in...
At PA, we have developed an end-to-end ROI-driven Strategy planning methodology for large complex IT-enabled programs. The approach not only articulates and proves the quantitative financial case, it builds ownership and buy-in across the organization and ensures that the program is setup to successfully deliver on the expected benefits.

To attempt to or to get someone or some company involved in a business process

As in...
I've engaged Tom Behongson already regarding the overall strategy, but I also wanted to touch base with your team as well to see if the necessary level of interest is there to really run this thing up the flagpole.

When the learnings from one test are said to provide a basis for another test

Blocking and tackling

Taught by Lecturer Rapscallion | Edit Tagged as blocking and tackling, buy-in, campaign, high level, selling it up the chain, strategy, | 1 Comments »

Actions and activities that are considered musts when taking a campaign to market.

As in...
George, I have to admit that this strategy is not going to work without a lot of blocking and tackling occurring on all levels. It's imperative that we have buy-in from a high level on this one.

Overarching

Taught by Lecturer Rapscallion | Edit Tagged as goals, inform, learnings, net net, strategy, | 2 Comments »

The concept that a thing is made up of many different things which are assembled into a group to give meaning to a much larger and all encompassing thing

As in...
I hear you. Trust me, Steve. We are on the same page here. Said another way, my question is really about the overarching goal of the initiative, which I still believe revolves around informing the creative strategy so that we might be able to net out the key learnings from our test and learn approach. Correct me if I'm wrong here, Steve.

The act of coming up with a strategy

Team, we have a lot to think about on this one. In order to secure a profitable strategy, it is likely that we may spend many hours attempting to strategize a plan to get this done.
