Going forward

Taught by TA Captain Bigballs | Edit Tagged as commitment, correct me if I'm wrong, going forward, job descriptions, managers, strategic, | 1 Comments »

From now on, in the future, a year from now, in 2 days, the next time we talk, whenever we do business again, in 1 second

As in...
So from what I'm hearing, we've got a commitment and c-level buy-in on the strategic job descriptions and going forward we are going to start calling Managers, Buttholes. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but that's my take on the call.

Birds eye view

Taught by Lecturer Rapscallion | Edit Tagged as birds eye view, get our bearings, old school, outer space view, point of view, POV, step back, strategic, tactical, where to go from here, | 1 Comments »

The original terminology used by the old school, for conveying the idea that some topic should be examined from a more strategic than tactical point of view (POV) or vantage.

Currently surplanted by the increasingly popular 30,000-foot view, and even more strategic outer space view.

As in...
Mr. Johnson: Let's all hold off for a minute and step back, and take a birds eye view of the situation. We'll get our bearings and figure out where to go from here.

Outer space view

Taught by Lecturer Rapscallion | Edit Tagged as balls in the air, big balls in the air, birds eye view, outer space view, strategic, strategic context, | 0 Comments »

When the 30,000-foot view just simply will NOT convey the level with which your issue must be examined strategically, the outer space view should be applied.

See also the old school roots for both this term and the 30,000-foot view, the formerly popular, birds eye view.

As in...
Kevien - What's our POV on the Big Balls in the Air movement Sammy?

Sammy - Well, that's a great question Kevien. From what angle are you looking for our posotion on it?

Kevien - I'm thinking you should tell me what it looks like from outer space. I think that's were we need to position ourselves for this client. Yup. Most definitely, we're going to need that outer space view on this. I mean, this could revolutionize that entire industry!

High level

A tactical thinker's way of explaining an attempt at a strategic thought.

As in...
So on a very high level, we are attempting to leverage existing learnings in order to speak to our target audience on a personal level. It's really a no-brainer.
