A hostile meeting orchestrated by an incompetent management to interrogate project leads in front of high level executives. Assumes a theatrical-like spectacle atmosphere with lots of righteous indignation. The purpose is for incompetent management pass the blame on to their workers rather than accept responsibility for their own failings.
As in...
After the project went red and failed 3 consecutive corrective action plans to return to green, management called the Project Leads into a Come To Jesus meeting in front of the Executive Big Shots where they basically called all the programmers a bunch of lazy morons despite the fact that management had been pulling them off and retasking them to work on other things for the last 5 months.

schedule a meeting,

Usually a polite way of brushing you off because the topic you are discussing is unimportant to who you're presenting it to.
You will find that if you actually do follow through and schedule the meeitng it will be cancelled last minute due to other "Pressing issues"
If you don't schedule the meeting you will be dinged on performance. "I thought I told you to schedule a meeting for this issue?"
Best bets: Schedule the meeting, when it's cancelled don't reschedule it and let your concerns die.
As in...
Yes, you bring up some good points on safety in the company. Schedule a meeting so we can discuss it further

End of Day: (1) The time when your boss, team, or the company is most likely to ask you to do something they forgot needed to be done; (2) When you are most likely to get something you need for your piece of a project from someone else; (3) When you are most likely to get something dropped on your lap, which you need to run up the flag pole, yet everyone else is already home, enjoying their evening, and it is due "first thing tomorrow".
As in...
William (timestamp of email: 5:59:01.344455): Giligan, I need you to complete that Opp Buildout on the Scorpions Widget for our meeting first thing tomorrow. I know you're going to do a great job for us, and I'm counting on you.
Giligan: Isn't that meeting at 9:00AM?
William: Yes. Yes it is. See you bright and early. I've got a free MSN dinner to go to... Louis XIII shots... Nobu... you know. Peace.
