Means "from the start", or "from the beginning". A horrible term from darkest corporate America, but often heard in Europe also, that implies we are all waiting for the customer to fire an imaginary starting pistol before we leap out of bed and into action. However in spite of its bright "carpe diem" positivism, it often conceals a culture where excuses, stalling and rampant non-delivery are not only the norm, but positively encouraged. As a result it is only ever used in the future tense by sales and marketing people, about projects that they themselves will not be delivering.
