To approach a problem from a place where it can't actually be solved. Typically, the higher a person is in an organization, the higher the level of the approach to the solving of the problem. The solution often references incomplete thoughts and ideas that are more that 8-10 years old. Other times they are just hacks that have managed to fool the company up to this point by appearing to be abstract and much more intelligent than their peers.
As in...
We need to look at this solution at a high-level. I believe if we use words to convey a message, we will incite a response from our audience. We don't need to discuss the audience qualities now, or the message, or the words. Let's keep this at a high-level.

see previous - more needs to be said about this important term
As in...
If you are wondering - Is "learnings" a word - No. It is not. IF you find yourself asking yourself, or others - "How do I use learnings in a sentence?" - You don't. Stop. Now. You are about to look really dumb. IF you find yourself trying to apply learnings - Stop. You will get hurt. They don't exist. IF you want to share learnings, don't be fooled - they are only in your head... don't share that insanity with anyone else. IF you try to teach others that learnings really is a real word - You will be Chuck Norris Beard-Fist Punched in the face. When you least expect it. IF you know the name of the person that tried to lie to you and teach you a word, learnings, that is not a word - Stop using it immediately, and un-friend them. Now. You're wasting valuable time. Really.

to screw up on an important task
As in...
Steve, I've had it. I gave you the simple task of creating the list of deliverables for the meeting and you still manage to drop the ball. How are we going to get buy-in from the c-level if we can't even manage to draft a proper action item list?

Idiotic way of saying "a chap who has ideas worth paying attention to". By saying "thought leader" or "thought leadership" you advertise that you probably hate communicating effectively and clearly with other people.

George, we need to provide a set of best practices for "creating buzz in the marketplace." I was thinking we could site the exploding roosters in Times Square example. Can you think of any other best of breed tactics? Pls LMK by EOD.
